How To Prepare For The Blood Test

Blood draws are generally held at the Portsmouth clinic from 9am to 11:00am Monday to Thursday and by appointment only.

 

Preparation for a Fasting Blood Test

 

Fast for 12 hours before your test—only drink plain water.

 

No tea, coffee, juice, alcohol, or chewing gum.

 

Stay hydrated with water.

 

Take essential medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

 

Avoid strenuous exercise the evening and morning before your test.

 

Schedule your appointment early in the morning.
